Sink problems and a cold bento D:

Theres a problem with the plumbing at the moment so I wasn't able to wash my Thermal Bento, so instead tonight I'm going to use my small bunny bento.

First piccy is of my bento wrapped. ^-^

Second piccy is of the bento itself: top teir: apples with designs, cut up match stick celery and red pepper along with a fish pick. =D

Bottom teir: white rice, cut up omellete, and a spicy chicken patty.

It was an easy bento to throw together in about 30 minutes, minus the fact that I had to cook the spicy chicken patty.

Winter Bento Love =D

Its winter times ladies and gents, so that means Thermal Bento love! *squees* I've had to put up the bunny bento in echancge for my thermal that keeps food nice and warm. So, todays bento is modled after comfert food. =3

Left side: potato salad made from lemon flavored olive oil, small baby potatoes, red and yellow peppers, half a jalapino, and some minced ginger. It was baked in the oven so the flavors would mingle together.

Center: white rice with a peice of cut up pork chop, it has some veggie oil and garlic steak shake on; also went into the oven. <3

Right: I had some odd veggies left and didn't know what to do with them when I remembered in Culinary School we had stuffed some tomatoes. So, I rooted through the fridge and came up with some corn, minced garlic, and collards. Putting those together with a half cup of panko bread crumbs and stuffing them they were also oven baked. =3

I had fun making this bento!

Sorry about the delay ladies and gents =p

Theres been a slight change in bento boxes, cause Monday night I ate a cold bento in a cold pizza store so I'm going to use my Thermal bento for the better half of winter. =p

Right side: cut up peices of ripe tomato and a potato salad.

Left side: peach cobbler without the fuss; basically frozen peaches put into the mirco in a bowl to thaw out and brown sugar put on top. I even made a crumble like topping with some natures valley oat bars and a small handfull of some kind of nut.

Middle: A new recipe actually since I didn't have soy sauce to flavor the eggs in my shrimp fried rice; put some mirin in them instead. Chopped up red and yellow bell pepper along with two small celery stalks and used some interesting sweet but spicy Asian sauce my dad got. Pulled it all together with some thawed shrimp cut into peices.

I've had the Thermal Bento since summer time this year and I didn't want to start using it yet, its just Monday night I got fed up with cold food so its in use now. =3
Oh, also my bean bun booty lost 2 more lbs! 204 babeh! =D

Yay, new bento I got for work! ;D

Yay, Miffy bento! *jumps up and down* A two teir bento with a removable lid that has a plastic spoon, and I can put a piggy soy sauce in the top. *squees* Its also the right size for work since the other bento's are either too big or too small. =p

Well then, the removable lid has a plastic spoon and a soy sauce piggy. The firest teir has lemon pepper pork, cut up tomatos with cut up beans that have a rasberry vinegrette sauce on them so I can mix it in with the cut up lettuce. Also got some cut up orange slices.

Bottom teir has rice and apple slices.

Hmmmm, it looks like a good dinner yes? Now that I have a bigger bento that means I may be able to bring soup with me! They are like bowls, the bottom is a bit deeper. =3

I'm just so extatic! A new bento, more food for dinner, and tomorrow I'm off to the japanese food markets with my friend for our once a month trip out. =3 Yay!

Omurice and other bentos for October =p

Todays lunch and bento dinner are Omurice, I had to stray a little from the recipe because of what I had on hand in the fridge.

1 celery stick
Small handful carrot sticks
2 small red radishes
15oz can chopped tomatoes drained (used a teaspoon of the juice)
1 cheesey weiner snitzhel cut up into small peices
1 cup sticky white rice
1 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon sake
1/2 teaspoon mirin
1/4 piece onion
Vegtable oil as needed
2 eggs

Cut up the onion into small peices and saute until transluscent.
Add your meat (cause not everyone likes chicken all the time =p) and stir for a few moments until its brown. Add veggies next along with the whole can tomatoes and 1 tablespoon ketchup. Mix well until everything is blended and the liquid is no longer on the bottom of the pan.

Set asside on plate and mix together two eggs. Put in liberal amount of oil and make an omellete by stiring until the bottom of the liquidly egg is almost firm and let cook for a few moments until the whole egg is done.

Dump the rice onto the egg, fold egg over and plop onto a plate. Garnish with ketchup on top.

Though my Omurice isn't an original its what I had on hand and what I felt like putting in it.

Foux seafood fried rice and tonights bento

I began to chop up the various vegitation in the fridge, which consistedof two small radishs, a small handful of tiny carrots, a qauter piece yellow bellpepper, and six snow peas cut on the bias. Getting my materials ready for making foux rice I found to my horror; NO SOY SAUCE! *screams* So I had to make a little alteration using worstisor sauce instead with my mixture of marin, sugar, and sake...the end result was good but not great...hunting around in the freezer I found some frozen shrimp and fake crab meat.

Hizzah! I added it to my veggies and tasted again...still missing something...rooting around in the spice cabinet I found cumin, ceyene pepper, and Chinese five spice. 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1 tablespoon ceyene, and 1 tablespoon Chinese five spice. After that I added half a cup of water and the rice to soak up the left over juices of goodness.

BAM! Foux Seafood fried rice ala Pixil Doll! =p

I had two scoops of this along with a piece of pita bread I had made for lunch.

Tonights bento has foux seafood fried rice, the restof the tomato salmon from yesterday, daikon kimchi, some small cut up pieces of cantilop, and a strawberry for a cushon. =3

Another culinary sucess today! *claps*

Kittey, Bento, and Nummy Home made Pita Bread

Okay,so the first picture is of my kitty, Momiji because of this cute ball of black fuzz I've been bentoless for awhile. She is a handfull but I'm learning how to cope with that. =p

The first bento was made for dinner one night last week,it has: rice topped with daikon kimchi ( can't get enough of this stuff! delicious!), the other side is cantalipe, stuffing with apples, and the meat is pulled prok with a dash-o-hot sauce. ^-^

Todays dinner bento for work has tomato salmon pieces, yellow juliene bell pepper, thin radish slices underneath the bell peppers, one piece of pita bread cut into small peices; two containers, the blue fishy mayo cup had veggie cream cheese spread and the yellow bunny sauce cup has pine nuts.

For thelast day and a half I've been baking breads and because my dad likes pita somuch Imade some to make up for the thick loaf of herb bread I had made the night prior. Tried a peice of theflat bread, twas delicious: chewy on the inside but crispy on the out side. Like Pita should be! =D

For thew past few weeks I haven't been able to make Bento's because of my new kitten...it feels like I have a child...*sigh* But I've gotten back into the groove of doing bento's now that my kitten can explore the house.

On with the bento! =D

The first bento was last night's dinner: half was sticky white rice w/ thinly sliced cucumber, strawberries, a ground ham mixture, and some pine nuts in one of my sauce containers. =3

Today's bento features seafood: fake crab meat and shrimp microwaved in butter, a few small slices of salmon with a spicy tomato sauce, honey dew, and white rice. =3 Mmmmmmm, dinner!

Last weekends dinner bento's; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Well, it took me awhile to post these because I'm watching Naruto Shippouden...go figure I'd turn into a Naruto-tard...*sigh* It was bound to happen sooner or later. ^-^

Now,on with the bento goodness! =D

Thursday Bento is the smaller one, in my chopper man tight box! It has rice topped with sweet corn, bite size peices of chicken half of it mind you, half a nectirine, and my little cutie elephant mayo cup with BBQ dipping suace. =D

Fridays bento is the one at the top, it had a mixed rice with radish, mushroom, carrot, and honey mustard salmon bits with corn on top. Half a nectirine and some cantilope. The other side has colliflower bits and a small peice of beef underneath carmalized onions.

Saturdays bento, unfortunetly I wasn't able to take a picture of it but it was rice and beef bits with veggies no fruit this time. ^-^

Fridays bento; rice, half a radish, half a mushroom, honey mustard salmon, and two kinds of fruit: strawberries and honey dew.

Next bento is for lastnight: hiney mustard rice mix with radish, carrots, tomato, mushroom, and the rest of the honey mustard slamon from the other day; decorated with a lotis root on top. Other side is cantalope, half a peice of chicken, and my cutie elephant mayo cup that has BBQ sauce in it! =D

I'm going to stock up on pocky indefinetly =D also going to try and get some red snapper fish this time around. Maybe I can do something with the yellow miso paste I have...*thinks* >.<

Ah well, I'll get to that road when I do and maybe I'll even make those Ichigo Daifukuwhile the rents aren't here! =D

Oh, one of mt boss's remarked, " How can you eat with chopsticks? Even when I practiceI can't seem to get it." I chuckled at him and pulled him aside.

"It is practice that makes you better, but I started out by practicing on non-food items like a penny." He shrugged going out for a smoke while I finished noming my rice. ;D

Yay modern technology. Hot Curry friends, enough said. The last picture on the bottom is lunch from yesterday, had a steak in the fridge so I made a sandwich with a potato bun, hot sauce, lettuce, and tomato. Lunch for 8/21/10 and 8/22/10

I used my ichigo bento yesterday for lunch, first tier: ysed the rest of the italian sasuage, used the rest of my sweet and sour chicken fried rice (experimental the previous day but very good). Second teir: half of a nectirine and ahandful of sweet corn kernals with cumin and curry powder.

The rest of the piccies are half of what I got from J-Mart, I definatly wanted some pastry so I got some. ^-^ My mom actually ate the one that had chocolate cream in a shell and I ate almost all the melon bread. I'm not sure what flavor the flower shaped bread is, most likely sweet bean.

Todays lunch was actually from Apple Bee's, small handful of fries and half of some kind of asian style burger but I kept within the guidlines of what I usually eat and how much I eat. Besides the fact that it was in a styrifoam container that looked like a thin bento. =D I also ate half of the melon bread and it was gooooood.

For todays bento for work I heated up some frozen rice with a side of two peices of chicken peices, egg with scallions, peas, and hot sauce. The other side is spicey daikon relish, Mmmmmm yummeh! =D

Hmmm, andmay I say my apointment at the diabieities center went spectacular! I lost 6 lbs and now my current weight is 201 lb's, one more to go so I can reach my goal. Then I can make another weight lose goal. =D

Obento lunch 8/20/10

Using one of my bunneh bento's, the top tier: a veggie salad minus the cheese cause being lactose and tolerant sucks. =p Anways in the salad is romane lettuce, green onion, one slice thin tomato, celery, two pods snow peas cut on the bias, and a side of raw yellow squash. I also packed a plastic squeez bottle of Italian dressing, and a side of cantilope and nectirine mix for a fruit. Oh I can't forget the cute green fishy pick! *gushes*

Second teir: Zitti a la Dennis minus the big pile of cheese on it, wnet out last night with my parents and grandmother to Dennis's and I got some Zitti. Half a meat ball and half an italian sausage cut up into bite size peices.

Quite a spread huh? I still have enough zitti left to make maybe two or three more lunches. Oh, yeah I lined my bento on the bottom teir with tin foil, I didn't want the tomato sauce to stain my bento box. ^-^

Since I'm on a roll with the healthy food let me say I'm glad I don't have daiabities, however the symptoms of my PCOS have been steadily disappearing as I lose weight. My current weight right now is 207 lbs, seven more pounds to lose and I'm at an ideal weight so says the doctor. Having PCOS is what spurred me to start making bentos, this way I can tweak my lunches, dinners, or even breakfest the way I need to. I give thanks to the bento and Japan for giving me inspiriation to lose weight, I'm also giving a hearty thanks to Biggie cause she's been a big help and inspiriation too.

Ah, well today I have to go to doctors for another appointment to see if my thyroid glands are okay, pretty sure they can tell whats going on with all the blood I gave; eight viles is pushing it though in my opinion. >.>

Well, thats all for today and tomorrow is carpool day for meand Lisa, finally after today we'll be going to J-Mart. I can't wait! *squee* Bread day!

Sho Mai goodness =D

TodayI dubbed Shu Mai day because I made some little duimplings with wonton wrappers and a filling I remember making in culinary school. It was fun to make them again and the the taste was exactually the same; delicous. =3

I even had enough let over to make some meatballs by adding egg and bread crumbs as a binder...though it didn't taste as good I should have addedsome spices and onion. ^-^ Well, live and learn right? Oh, I even got to use my steamer! Maybe next time I can make some beef buns! Squeeee!
