Bento for 7/27/10 and back to college to finish one class =p

Well I don't have pictures this time because my bento i aready wrapped up andput into the fridge. Tomorrows lunch is in the chopper man one teir bento, one side has tastey bing cherries, a stack of cocconit crackers, and the other half is my special fouz fried rice. =D

Sine were not allowed to eat in the classroom, I'm going to eat it on break in the studet lounge. I don't like the food machines there so I thought I might make a bento for a snack/lunch kind of deal. Still makes me wonder why a culinary school dosen't feed its students........ oh well. I can always show off my culinary prowess of how to make a bento to others. ;3

Being a chef is awsome!

Good eatting everyone. =D

7/18/10 Lunch and some tasteh potato croquettes! =D

Todays lunch is again in my Chopper Man tight lock one teir bento, I've got a chicken strip, some cut up nectarine, cole slaw, one biscut cut in half to fit into the box, and a combination of hashbrown casirole and mac and cheese. Everything except for the fruit came from dinners lastnight, yay bento! =D

On an even better note I made some Hotwing potato croquettes! Wheeee experimentation! It was messy lastnight pulling the meat fom the small chiken legs and wings but it was fun, I added garlic salt to the paotatos and the cheese was already in them so all I had to do with grind up the meat ad mix. I formed little balls, which were a bit deformed and flat; put them in the freezer over night so they would't be so squishy when I breaded them.

I took out the mixture today and they were rock hard, just as I planned. ^-^ I breaded the potato mixture, put some Italian seasonins in the bread crumb mixture and went to town. I sadly did not make any dipping sauce; but thats okay at least now I have something to put into my bento tomorrow morning and its not boreing at all.

My mom ate a peice and said it was good, could have used dipping sauce though. The top piccy is the result of last minute planning with left over cheese potato and boring hot wings. =p I'd like to thank Biggie for her inspiriational inspiration!

Good eatting everyone! ;D

Lactose and Tolerance issue =p

Calpico, though considered a soda or a mixer for other drinks it dose have milk in it; mmmm more like powdered milk. Although it has powdered milk the amount is minimal. This has become my milk substitute along with soy milk, every day I have a small cup of Calpico mixed with orange juice, soda, or water (in the picture above).

Kind of taste like a collective of fruits and it is fizzy, but when mixed with other non fizzy liquids it dosen't fizz at all. =p Still taste good in orange juice though. ^-^ The Japanese sure know how to substitute for those of us with LAT ( Lactose And Tolerance)

Lunch for 7/17/10 and Apple designs

Todays lunch is hot wings, two mini veggie rolls cut into halfs on lettuce ( cause the wing sauce is going to stain my plastic box!), foux fried rice and a tomato bunneh! =D

The foux fried rice is made from frozen veggis boiled in mirin, a little sake, sugar, soy sauce, and a little water added at the end to make it into a glaze.

I got the wings and mini veggie rolls from work. =3

Also some apple carving practice, wheee! :D

Mess Be Gone! =0

Okay...so the kitchen isn't exactually the mess free zone and I didn't want to put my bento items in the kitchen....its not mine its me parents. =B So for my bento to stay out of harms way and out of the darkness of a newly painted babies shelf/dawer thingy went to Rose's to get a plastic bin...

There were a cornicopia of different sizes, some came on wheels and others didn't. I opted for the choice of the large plastic drawers, it was 20$. The meduime ones were 5$ and I even found a sale on bandana's for that day too, 1$ a peice; I got three different colors. Not too shabby =3

The last piccy is the whole of all the plastic bins and what not put together; it also shows a container from the dollar tree; which by the way will be housing my cutie food picks...once I get some and a insulated Natural leaf lunch bag the inside is lined with a thin foil like material that keep food warm or cold. Inside that are my furoshiki, rolled up and tied so I don't over use the space I already have. I know in the future my collection/ bento habbit will be getting worse. ;D

The middle piccy is of the larger plastic bin/drawer/divider that has three drawers: first drawer is for large bento or extra large bento's with three to two teirs. The second drawer is for medium to small bento and the last drawer I don't know what to do with yet because I still have room. =p

The top piccy shows all the stuff on top plus my little small two tier bunny snack bento; yay bunneh! The plastic drawers are as follows:

drawer 1: small array of chopsticks/cooking chopsticks (chopstick drawer =O)
drawer 2: sandie panda sandwich maker, two way egg maker, onigiri maker, 3 side cars, orange plastic egg, two penguin bottles, and octopus weiner maker.
drawer 3: oval and circle soft plastic cups so far, I intend to get a few mayonaise cups as well.

Thanks for reading. =3

Todays Lunch =3

It didn't take to long today making lunch and I'm using my Chopper Man tight lock one tier bento.

Pineweels with spicy mustard, lettuce, and ham thinl sliced. One small tomato on lettuce, a small handful of pine nuts, and a fried egg omlette with peas, carrots, snap beans, and tomato microwwaved in soy sauce, marin, a little sake, and some sugar acting as a glaze. I micrwowaved for 50 seconds, took it out, added water, and put it back in for 20 min, the veggies thawed by then and cooked.

It was a 20 minute process including rolling the pinwheels and cooking the egg.

I usually try to stay away from cheese because I have lactose and tolerance issues but I seem to be okay with a little bit of cheese now and than. I got the fried omelett recipe from one of my Japanese cook books though I used what I had on hand.

My First Bento =D

I'm not too new to the bento scene, but I have been wanting to pack bento lunches and dinner lately. Thouh this is an old picture, when I went to culinary school I would get lunch out of the machine but one day on a technicality I decided to make a bento.

I had recetly gotten my shipment from J-List because I was courious about bento and sine I love food, beto and culinary school seemed to go hand in hand.

Top Tier: shrimp, colliflour, carrots, celery, and green onion stirfry on top of a bed of scrambled eggs and rice.

Bottom Teir: grapes, orange segments, broccoli, penguin bottle with catolina dressing, and a sweet redbean paste mochi.
